Montenegro recorded 2.29 million tourist arrivals and 12.79 million overnight stays in the first eight months of 2026, increases of 9.09% and 8.15%, respectively. Individual accommodation accounted for the larger share of overnight stays, with growth significantly outpacing that of hotels and other collective establishments.
Individual accommodation registered 1.17 million arrivals, up 15.74%, while overnight stays reached 8.73 million, an increase of 10.52%. This segment represented approximately 68% of all recorded overnight stays during the period. Collective accommodation recorded 1.12 million arrivals, up 2.94%, and 4.07 million overnight stays, representing growth of 3.39%.
Foreign tourists continued to drive the expansion, with their arrivals increasing by 9.60% and overnight stays by 8.47%. The figures show that individual lodging, including apartments and houses, accounted for a substantially larger volume of overnight stays than collective accommodation. The distribution of visitor demand also connects tourism activity more closely with property owners and local services operating outside larger accommodation establishments.
