The Ministry of Public Works has launched a tender for the design and construction of artificial reservoirs to support snowmaking infrastructure at Ski Centre Kolašin 1600. The tender was published on 11 July, while the value of the planned contract was not disclosed in the available announcement.
The planned investment is aimed at reducing the ski centre’s dependence on natural snowfall and improving the reliability of winter-season operations.
The development of snowmaking infrastructure is intended to support mountain tourism facilities affected by changes in snowfall patterns and temperature conditions. The project’s operational impact will depend on factors including reservoir capacity, available water resources, pumping requirements, electricity consumption and the share of ski terrain that can be covered. Snowmaking systems can increase the number of operating days during the winter season, while also requiring additional energy consumption, maintenance activities and environmental and water-management planning.
