Montenegro has awarded Bemax a €6.9 million contract, including VAT, to construct a new road connecting the Dinoša–Cijevna Zatrijebačka regional road with the Podgorica–Tuzi boulevard, expanding transport infrastructure in the capital region. The Transport Administration confirmed Bemax as the contractor, establishing the project’s value and implementation arrangements. The development adds another awarded contract to Montenegro’s public infrastructure investment programme.
Four-Lane Road to Cover 2.7 Kilometres
The project involves approximately 2.7 kilometres of new road infrastructure, designed with four traffic lanes, comprising two lanes in each direction. Each lane will be 3.5 metres wide.
Construction is scheduled to take 550 calendar days from the contractor’s formal introduction to the site, equivalent to approximately a year and a half. The new connection is intended to improve links between Podgorica and Tuzi, connecting the existing regional road network with one of the capital region’s principal transport corridors.
Construction Activity and Regional Connectivity
The project will require earthworks, asphalt, aggregates, concrete, drainage systems and other road construction materials and services, generating procurement and civil-engineering activity during implementation. Improved road connections could facilitate the movement of goods between Podgorica, Tuzi and surrounding industrial, agricultural and logistics areas, while easing access across the regional transport network.
Bemax is already involved in several major transport and infrastructure projects in Montenegro. The new contract adds to a broader public-investment pipeline encompassing roads, motorways, railways and municipal infrastructure. The road’s wider contribution to regional connectivity will depend on its integration with the network linking Podgorica and Tuzi to transport corridors serving border areas.
