Montenegro’s Crnogorska komercijalna banka (CKB) has completed its rebranding and now operates as OTP Bank, aligning its corporate identity with its Hungarian parent group after two decades under OTP ownership.
The bank’s assets increased from €1.2 billion to €2.2 billion, representing growth of approximately 83%. It currently serves more than 160,000 customers and plans further investment in digital banking, corporate services and financing for Montenegrin businesses seeking access to European markets. OTP Group operates in 11 countries, serving more than 17.5 million customers, with total assets of approximately €130 billion.
The group said the rebranding reflects its commitment to Montenegro and its strategy of establishing a common identity across Central and Southeast Europe. The bank’s growth has also been supported by investment in technology, risk management and customer services.
Existing customer accounts, deposits, loans, payment cards and banking relationships will continue without disruption. The transition represents a change of corporate identity rather than an acquisition or merger.
OTP Bank Montenegro has identified digital services, simplified banking products and stronger corporate relationships as priorities for further development. The group has also indicated that additional consolidation in Montenegro’s banking sector remains possible, although organic growth is its primary objective. The country currently has 11 banks operating in the market.
