Unipan Green DOO, represented by Veselin Pejović, is set to build a 100 MW solar power plant on the former property of Kombinat Aluminijuma Podgorica (KAP), which Pejović acquired through bankruptcy proceedings.
The proposal for urban-technical conditions for the project was included in the Montenegrin government’s session without discussion. The investment is valued at tens of millions of euros.
Unipan Green DOO, registered in 2022, is part of Pejović’s business network. Its establishment coincided with legislative changes under the administration of Dritan Abazović, which allowed the government to approve renewable energy projects directly.
The land for the project is owned by Pejović’s company Uniprom Progres, a subsidiary of Uniprom, which acquired KAP’s assets for €28 million after the factory’s bankruptcy, despite initial valuations of €100 million. The bankruptcy process was controversial, particularly regarding layoffs, severance payments, and electricity pricing agreements with EPCG.
Pejović and his businesses have faced legal challenges, including Israeli court rulings requiring him to pay millions to former partners over disputed business arrangements.
