The Transport Administration has announced a tender for the reconstruction of the main road between Berane and Rožaje, covering a total length of 30.7 kilometers. The estimated value of the works is €59.7 million excluding VAT.
The tender is being conducted in accordance with European Investment Bank (EIB) procedures, and the call for bids is published on the EU’s official website. The deadline for submission and opening of bids is July 30 at noon.
The project is divided into two sections: the first runs from Berane to the “Lokve” tunnel (15.5 km), and the second from the tunnel to the Rožaje bypass (15.2 km). Planned works include improving road alignment, reconstructing the pavement structure, designing and rehabilitating four existing tunnels, building one new bridge, rehabilitating 12 existing bridges, and constructing or reconstructing 76 retaining walls.
The goal of this infrastructure investment is to enhance road safety and improve connectivity in Montenegro’s northern region.
