After participating in the Fifth International Conference of the Silk Road Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, organized by the Parliament of Montenegro on the topic “Connecting Continents: Enhancing Sustainable Tourism, Clean Energy, and Ecological Balance for a Resilient Future,” Milun Zogović, Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, hosted a delegation of representatives from leading Azerbaijani construction and infrastructure companies, as announced by the Government.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a meaningful discussion on investment possibilities in major infrastructure projects in Montenegro, as well as mechanisms for effective cooperation with international partners in the design, construction, and reconstruction of key roadways, urban areas, utility infrastructure, and energy facilities.
Zogović emphasized that Montenegro remains open to partnerships with renowned international companies, particularly those bringing knowledge, technology and experience in executing complex projects.
He highlighted that the dialogue within the Silk Road Group offers a platform for exchanging ideas and planning concrete steps toward establishing more efficient connections between Europe and Asia.
“Energy efficiency, environmental issues, infrastructural connectivity, regional cooperation, and economic development are key topics for our future. Azerbaijan is recognized as one of the most important investors in Montenegro, symbolizing not only economic strength but also trust between our two countries. This meeting reaffirms the existing friendly relations and serves as an opportunity to open new horizons for future long-term cooperation,” said Zogović.
Representatives of Azerbaijani companies expressed interest in participating in future infrastructure investments in Montenegro, recognizing the significant potential of the Western Balkans for regional development and connectivity through initiatives such as the Silk Road.
“Stable political and economic conditions, as well as the Montenegrin Government’s commitment to strengthening the partnership between our countries, provide a positive impetus for potential investors to invest in Montenegro. Infrastructure projects are a solid starting point for cooperation between companies from both countries in the construction sector. The strong existing cooperation in various fields forms a solid foundation for further development of bilateral relations and the implementation of joint initiatives and projects,” concluded Deputy Prime Minister Zogović.
