A supplementary agreement for the implementation of the donation contract for the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge was signed, as announced by the Ministry of Transport.
The signing was supported by China, creating the conditions for the start of works on the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević, Director of the Traffic Administration Radomir Vuksanović, and Economic Advisor at the Chinese Embassy, Wang Changjiang.
The Ministry stated that the agreement defines that all costs of the works, including testing, design, and execution, will be covered by the Chinese side.
The value of the donation is 51.8 million Chinese Yuan (JPY), approximately 6.64 million EUR, and the contractor will be the Chinese company Shandong Luqiao Group, in cooperation with domestic partners.
The Đurđevića Tara Bridge is recognized as one of the most significant engineering works in the world before World War II.
In China, it made a strong impression through its depiction in the famous Yugoslav war film Most (The Bridge), directed by Hajrudin Krvavac, which was once one of the most popular films in the partisan genre.
The reconstruction project of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge symbolizes the friendship between Montenegro and China and serves as a successful example of donor project implementation, the Ministry concluded.
