The Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has officially approved a €200 million loan under favorable terms for the construction of the second section of the Bar–Boljare highway in Montenegro, according to the Ministry of Transport.
This decision confirms that all technical, legal, environmental, and procedural requirements have been met, signaling confidence in the project’s preparation and execution by Montenegrin authorities.
The support from the EBRD reflects the strategic importance of the Bar–Boljare highway for regional connectivity and Montenegro’s economic development. The upcoming Mateševo–Andrijevica section is one of the most challenging segments and represents a crucial step in completing the country’s key transport corridor.
