The total value of the Vojislavljević Boulevard, whose construction began, amounts to 14.43 million EUR including VAT, and it is expected to be completed in 18 months, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The Vice President of the Government for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Milun Zogović, announced that the project includes the construction of street lighting, stormwater and sewage systems, water supply and telecommunication installations, as well as traffic and light signaling.
Zogović added that the section from 4th of July Street to the bridge over the Morača River will have six intersections.
He praised the work of the Ministry of Transport and Minister Maja Vukićević, stating that this project demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to serving citizens.
The Ministry emphasized that this is one of the key infrastructure projects of the Capital City and the Government, managed by the Traffic Administration. The project involves the construction of a boulevard along Vojislavljević Street, from the roundabout at 4th of July Street to the bridge over the Morača River.
The project includes the reconstruction of the existing road into a modern boulevard profile, approximately 3.2 kilometers long. The plan includes the construction of two road lanes with two traffic lanes each, a median strip, sidewalks on both sides, cycling lanes, and green areas – making the total width of the road between 24 and 26.5 meters.
The construction will also include three roundabouts and three four-way intersections, with modern traffic light signaling. Additionally, works on street lighting, stormwater and sewage systems, water supply, telecommunications installations, and traffic signaling are planned.
The works will be financed by the Traffic Administration with 9.12 million EUR and the Capital City with 5.3 million EUR.
The contractor for the project is Crnagoraput, while the construction oversight and laboratory testing will be managed by the Construction Supervision.
The deadline for the completion of the works is 18 months.
“This is not an isolated project, but part of a broader development vision of the Ministry of Transport aimed at improving traffic infrastructure, especially in the Capital City of Podgorica,” the Ministry stated.
They also emphasized their commitment to easing traffic congestion, reducing noise and pollution, and most importantly, increasing the safety of all road users, particularly pedestrians and cyclists.
“Our task is to build a sustainable and functional transport system that meets the needs of a modern city and contributes to a better quality of life for all citizens,” the Ministry concluded.
