Asphalt paving has begun on an additional three kilometers of the Tivat-Jaz Boulevard, according to the Directorate for Traffic.
Radomir Vuksanović, Director of the Directorate for Traffic, stated that despite numerous challenges on site, the project is progressing satisfactorily. A significant portion of the road is already paved, and work continues without traffic interruptions, maintaining two-way traffic, which complicates the construction process but ensures convenience for residents and tourists.
Krsto Radović, Director of the Regional Waterworks, emphasized the dual importance of the project, highlighting that alongside road construction, a new pipeline is being installed. This will improve traffic flow by reducing congestion and provide safer, more reliable water supply for municipalities along the Montenegrin coast.
The new pipeline will deliver increased water volumes to Kotor, Tivat, and Herceg Novi, with plans underway to build a 5,000 cubic meter reservoir to enhance water supply security during summer months and emergencies.
The approximately 16-kilometer Tivat-Jaz Boulevard construction is funded through a European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) loan valued at over €54 million (excluding VAT).
