Air Montenegro’s planned addition of a fourth Embraer E195 aircraft has been delayed due to administrative and technical issues linked to aircraft lessor TrueNoord. The aircraft, registered as 4O-AOI, is being acquired under a long-term lease agreement and was scheduled to support the airline’s fleet during the peak summer travel period.
The delay remains limited in scope for the company, but highlights operational challenges for a smaller carrier operating with a concentrated fleet structure. Aircraft availability, maintenance support and lessor performance can directly influence route reliability during the period when Montenegro’s tourism sector relies heavily on air connectivity.
Visitor numbers continue to rise ahead of peak season
Montenegro entered the July tourism period with more than 100,000 visitors recorded in the country on 25 June, representing an increase of approximately 10% compared with the same period a year earlier and 13% above the comparable 2019 level. Tourism data for May showed close to 250,000 arrivals and approximately 1.15 million overnight stays. Compared with May 2025, arrivals increased by around 6%, while overnight stays grew by approximately 7%.
Igalo Institute reports higher activity in health tourism
The Dr Simo Milošević Institute in Igalo reported approximately 670 patients and guests at its Phase II facility on 9 July. The institute recorded improved results compared with the previous year, with continued demand from Slovenia and regional markets.
Tourism infrastructure remains a key operational factor
The tourism sector is entering the main summer period with higher visitor numbers, additional sustainability financing and recovering specialist tourism facilities. At the same time, operational capacity remains affected by factors including airline reliability, road congestion, water infrastructure and hotel energy costs, which influence the ability of tourism operators to convert increased visitor volumes into operating results.
