Air Montenegro has entered into a codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines, aiming to enhance international travel options for passengers in and out of Montenegro. This agreement allows both airlines to offer seats on each other’s flights under their respective flight codes, thereby expanding the routing and scheduling choices available to travelers.
As part of this collaboration, Turkish Airlines will place its code on Air Montenegro flights connecting Istanbul with Podgorica and Tivat, thereby improving access to Montenegro through one of Europe’s major aviation hubs. Concurrently, Air Montenegro will add its code to select Turkish Airlines flights departing from Istanbul to various long-haul and regional destinations, facilitating seamless connections for Montenegrin travelers to a broader international network.
This marks the inaugural codeshare agreement for Air Montenegro since its inception, representing a significant advancement in the airline’s network development strategy. By partnering with a prominent global airline, Air Montenegro gains access to established passenger flows, increased visibility within international booking systems, and enhanced attractiveness for both incoming tourists and outgoing business travelers.
For Turkish Airlines, this agreement strengthens its presence in Southeast Europe and aids in channeling traffic into its long-haul network through Istanbul. Both airlines anticipate that the partnership will lead to improved load factors, optimized route economics, and enhanced competitiveness in service offerings without necessitating immediate capacity increases.
Executives from both airlines have highlighted that the codeshare is intended to bolster tourism growth, facilitate business travel, and strengthen economic ties between Montenegro, Türkiye, and other markets. As operational and commercial integration unfolds, passengers are expected to experience coordinated schedules, simplified ticketing processes, and smoother transfer experiences, marking a practical advancement toward deeper airline collaboration in the region.
