The President of the Board of Directors of the Airports of Montenegro, Eldin Dobardžić, announced that the company has a result ten million euros better than last year and operates without a loss. He said that they have unofficial information that low-cost airlines Wizz Air and Ryanair will reactivate routes to Montenegro at the beginning of the summer season, which they canceled at the end of October.
Dobardžić emphasized that he must be satisfied with a 35% better result than last year, and that the revenues exceeded expectations.
- For 11 months, gross revenues are at the level of 42 million EUR, and by the end of the year, we expect 44 million. Also, there is an increase in the number of transported passengers, and ahead of us is the holiday season, and then the diaspora coming to Montenegro.. – said the President of the Board of Directors of the Airport and emphasized that they ended 2023 with revenues of 34 million.
- This is a seriously large increase, and we must be satisfied. Operating profit is around 13 million, and the net result is around 10 million – he added.
According to him, air traffic and the number of rotations were significantly higher than last year.
Regarding the routes that low-cost airlines operate, Dobardžić said that the situation in Montenegro is specific.
- Our approach must be specific and take into account the specificities of our airports, which are state-owned. During the winter season, we have eight destinations with which low-cost airlines Wizz Air and Ryanair connect us, and we unofficially received information from Wizz that they will reactivate at the beginning of the summer season. Signals are also that Ryanair will return most of its destinations.
