The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed strong interest in enhancing relations with Montenegro, particularly in economic cooperation across multiple sectors, according to a meeting between Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and UAE Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, agreements were signed to strengthen bilateral ties and open new opportunities for economic collaboration. Spajić emphasized that these agreements signal significant interest from UAE investors and could boost Montenegro’s economy and living standards.
Key areas of cooperation include energy, where UAE-based Masdar is already involved in the Krnovo wind farm, and IT, with potential investments in data centers to position Montenegro as a regional hub.
Discussions also covered Montenegro’s EU accession process and improving air connectivity by establishing a year-round flight route, which could benefit tourism, especially in the northern regions.
Regional and global developments were also on the agenda, with a particular focus on the Western Balkans, an area of strategic interest for the UAE.
