In March, Montenegro recorded 54,970 tourist arrivals and 127,680 overnight stays in collective accommodation, according to preliminary data released by Monstat.
“Foreign tourists accounted for 76.8% of all overnight stays in collective accommodation, while domestic tourists made up the remaining 23.2%,” the statement said.
When broken down by type of tourist destination, the majority of overnight stays were recorded in coastal areas (72.5%), followed by the capital city (18.2%), other areas (6.3%), and mountain destinations (2.9%).
Collective accommodation includes hotels, inns, motels, tourist resorts, holiday centers, hostels, and campsites. It does not include private or individual accommodation such as rented houses, rooms, or tourist apartments.
