Top domestic retail companies in Montenegro reported a combined net profit of 35.1 million euros at the end of last year, with two major retail chains accounting for 27.6 million euros of that amount, according to a statement from the NGO Action for Social Justice (ASP).
The organization stated that these figures are based on the financial statements submitted by the companies.
The highest profit was reported by Voli Trade, which posted a net income of 16.3 million euros for 2024.
At the end of last year, Voli Trade had accumulated profits of 44 million euros and declared a dividend payout of 5.5 million euros. The company also reported an average of 2,367 employees during 2024.
Hard Discount Laković recorded a net profit of 11.3 million euros for the same period, with accumulated profits totaling 41.7 million euros. The company did not report any dividend payout and employed an average of 1,601 workers last year.
Idea-CG posted a net profit of 4.7 million euros in 2024. According to ASP, the company reduced its accumulated losses from 20 million euros in 2023 to 15.1 million euros in 2024. It reported 2,519 employees by the end of the year.
Franca Marketi achieved a net profit of 598,000 euros in 2024. The company had retained earnings of 11.7 million euros and employed an average of 52 people throughout the year.
Domaća Trgovina reported a net profit of 2.3 million euros for the year. It reduced its accumulated losses from 25.9 million euros in 2023 to 23.5 million euros in 2024, and had 1,323 employees by the end of the year, according to ASP.
