Tourism operators and accommodation providers in Tivat are reporting strong bookings and positive forecasts for the upcoming summer season, according to Nina Lakičević, Director of the local Tourism Organization.
Currently, around 3,100 registered tourists are staying in the town, a two percent increase compared to last year and a 49 percent rise compared to 2019. The largest number of visitors come from Russia, followed by Serbia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the United Kingdom.
Lakičević noted that the preseason was weaker, primarily due to limited flight connections. However, the situation is expected to improve as new air routes are being launched. This season, Tivat will have direct flights to Kraljevo, Niš, Ljubljana, four cities in the UK, as well as destinations in the Middle East, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Spain.
She highlighted the importance of destination promotion through tourism fairs and digital campaigns. This year, Tivat participated for the first time in a tourism fair in the United States, reflecting growing interest from that market. Special attention is also being given to regional promotion.
Tivat continues to position itself as one of the most dynamic destinations on the Montenegrin coast, with over 30 events planned throughout the season.
