The total foreign trade of Montenegro in January amounted to EUR 299.9 million, according to Monstat’s preliminary data. As they stated, this indicates a growth of 42.9% compared to the same period of the previous year. In the first month, Montenegro exported goods worth EUR 87 million, while the value of imports amounted to EUR 212.9 million.
– Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports were higher by 35.2%, and imports were higher by 46.3% – said Monstat.
The coverage of imports by exports amounted to 40.9%, which is lower than in the same period of the previous year, when it amounted to 44.2%.
In the structure of exports according to the standard international trade classification, mineral fuels and lubricants are the most represented in the amount of EUR 65.8 million, namely electricity with EUR 63.7 million and others. When we talk about imports, the most represented are machines and transport devices in the amount of EUR 48.4 million, and road vehicles EUR 15.1 million and others.
This time, Montenegro exported the most goods to Slovenia, in the amount of EUR 23.3 million. It is followed by Serbia with 21.2 million, and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 15 million EUR. The largest foreign trade partners in imports were Serbia with EUR 32.1 million, China with EUR 24.7 and Germany with EUR 20.6 million. Foreign trade was the largest with CEFTA signatories and with the European Union.
