The total inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Montenegro at the end of August amounted to 569.61 million euros, while at the same time 283.55 million euros went out of the country, according to preliminary data of the Central Bank (CBCG).
“The net inflow of foreign direct investments from January to August amounted to 286.06 million euros, which is 49.4 percent less compared to the same period last year,” according to the CBCG Bulletin.
The total inflow of foreign direct investments fell by 25.47 percent compared to the comparative period, which is the result of a drop in investments based on intercompany debt and investments in companies and banks, as well as on the basis of the withdrawal of investments from abroad.
57.14 million euros flowed out of the country on the basis of investments by residents abroad, while withdrawals of funds by non-residents invested in Montenegro amounted to 226.41 million euros.
The inflow of foreign direct investments in the form of equity investments amounted to 360.83 million euros, which is 63.35 percent of the total. Of that, 296.81 million euros were invested in real estate, and 64.02 million euros in companies and banks.
The inflow of FDI in the form of intercompany debt amounted to 179.41 million euros, which is 31.5 percent of the total inflow.
