The Tax Administration collected a total of 107 million euros in gross tax revenue during January.
According to a statement, the results from January 1 to 31, 2025, show that the collection of budget revenues is 16.4 million euros, or 18 percent, higher compared to the same period last year.
The value-added tax (VAT) collection amounted to 62.5 million euros, which is an increase of 12 million euros, or 24 percent, compared to last year, the Tax Administration reported.
The statement also noted that corporate income tax collected amounted to 4.8 million euros, which is 1.6 million euros, or 52 percent, more than in the same period last year.
In the coming period, the Tax Administration will focus on increasing revenue collection in line with budget forecasts and improving efforts to reduce the informal economy, consistently and uniformly applying regulations, the statement concludes.
