Montenegro recorded approximately 2.29 million tourist arrivals and 12.79 million overnight stays in January-August 2026, up 9.09% and 8.15% year on year. Foreign visitors drove most of the growth, while a separate measure showed real retail turnover up 4.7% in the third quarter.

Foreign visitors accounted for 91.3% of Montenegro’s collective-accommodation nights in September 2026, according to MONSTAT. A separate 2025 breakdown shows Serbia, Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were leading markets for foreign nights in private accommodation.
