The “Simo Milošević” Institute in Igalo has been rescued through an 88 million EUR investment, following years of financial struggles. Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced the adoption of the Restructuring Plan, which includes the investment by the end of 2028, with 62 million EUR allocated for capital expenditures. This plan aims to restore the Institute to its former prominence as a rehabilitation and health tourism center, ensuring its long-term sustainability.
Spajić emphasized that, instead of bankruptcy and privatization, the plan guarantees the settlement of all obligations and focuses on revitalizing the Institute. It also provides for a significant increase in funding from the Health Insurance Fund (FZO), improving the Institute’s financial liquidity.
Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun praised the plan’s success, noting that around 5,000 users, including 500 children, benefit from the Institute’s services annually. The leadership of the Institute and its employees expressed their support for the plan, viewing it as a historic milestone that secures the future of the center.
