Montenegro can no longer be held hostage by party experiments, incompetent directors, and poor government decisions that citizens end up paying for. Crnogorska Plovidba is on the verge of shutting down, and its ships are being sold off. This is the result of years of negligence, political appointments, and mismanagement that turned the company into a symbol of failed governance, said the office of President Jakov Milatović.
Even if the sale of ships is now unavoidable, that is not enough. Bad decisions should have been stopped earlier, and those responsible must be held accountable. The government has accepted the sale of ships, and must therefore bear the greatest responsibility for Crnogorska Plovidba’s bankruptcy. It must reveal the names of those who, through their signatures, silence, or negligence, pushed the company into collapse.
This is a message to everyone who believes that state property belongs to no one. It belongs to all of us and must be protected like a family home.
Montenegro needs profitable companies, not bankrupt ones. The promised change and justice have not been delivered. Citizens chose responsibility, not just new faces in old positions. Full accountability must be established for all who managed Crnogorska Plovidba. Responsible and transparent management is needed for every public company, and political strongholds that destroy everything they touch must be dismantled.
