The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Irena Radović, met with Anne Lugon-Moulin, the newly appointed Swiss Ambassador on a non-resident basis, initiating a dialogue to strengthen cooperation between the CBCG and Swiss institutions, particularly in the fields of central banking, economics, and finance.
Governor Radović wished Ambassador Lugon-Moulin a successful tenure, expressing confidence that the relations between the two countries and their institutions will be further strengthened in the coming period, to the mutual benefit of both sides and contributing to the economic stability and sustainable development of Montenegro.
During the constructive conversation, the CBCG stated that Governor Radović emphasized the Central Bank of Montenegro’s readiness to collaborate with Swiss institutions in the spirit of partnership, with the aim of enhancing the institutional capacities of the Central Bank on its path to membership in the European System of Central Banks.
In this context, discussions were also held regarding the possibility of establishing cooperation with Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the potential involvement of the Central Bank of Montenegro in a special bilateral support program designed for central banks, aimed at improving the regulatory framework and supporting the modernization of central banking.
Ambassador Lugon-Moulin congratulated the Governor on the achievements of the Central Bank of Montenegro, emphasizing that Switzerland views Montenegro as a strategic partner and supports its efforts as a regional leader on its path to European Union membership.
