In April, the average gross salary in Montenegro was €1,202, while the average net salary (after taxes and contributions) was €1,009. The net salary increased by 0.6% compared to March and rose by 21.9% compared to April 2024, according to data from MONSTAT.
However, consumer prices rose by 0.8% from March to April, meaning real wages slightly decreased by 0.2% during this period.
By sector, net salaries increased in April compared to March in industries such as arts and recreation (2.7%), health and social care (2.5%), trade and vehicle repair (1.9%), public administration and defense (1.8%), manufacturing (1.2%), accommodation and food services (1.2%), energy supply (1.1%), construction (1.1%), mining (0.4%), education (0.3%), and agriculture (0.2%).
Conversely, net salaries declined in sectors including information and communication (-5.2%), real estate (-4.9%), finance and insurance (-2.8%), transport and storage (-1.5%), water supply and waste management (-0.8%), professional and technical activities (-0.5%), other services (-0.2%), and administrative support (-0.1%).
