The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management will do everything possible to ensure better conditions for the development of agriculture and improve the lives and work of Montenegrin farmers, said the Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Joković.
“Through IPARD funds, farmers can apply for the purchase of machinery, which is crucial for improving production and keeping up with modern trends,” Joković stated.
During his visit to the Municipality of Danilovgrad, Joković met with the municipality’s president, Aleksandar Grgurović, to discuss ways to further improve agricultural infrastructure and support local producers.
Joković and the municipal representatives also visited the Katunjanka dairy, which produces four tons of cheese daily, distributed both in Montenegro and Serbia. The dairy has been a long-time beneficiary of IPARD funds, which have enabled them to improve production capacities and achieve high-quality products.
“This was an opportunity to witness firsthand the quality of their production and to experience an outstanding product that best promotes Montenegro,” Joković said.
The delegation also visited Marinko Perović’s farm in the village of Viš, where he raises 25 cows. The Ministry has allocated €40,000 for road repairs leading to Perović’s farm, which will facilitate product distribution and improve agricultural production.
The delegation also visited farmer Nebojša Ćirković’s farm, where the Municipality of Danilovgrad paved a 300-meter stretch of road, significantly improving access to the farm and making livestock farming easier.
During a visit to the Novo Selo community, Joković emphasized the importance of improving local roads, with the Ministry investing €20,000 in the area.
Joković also highlighted the encouraging fact that more and more young people are recognizing opportunities in agriculture and are eager to work and develop the sector.
“The Ministry will continue to support promising producers, reaffirming its commitment to improving the working conditions in agriculture,” the statement concludes.
