There are currently about 73,000 tourists in Montenegro, according to the National Tourism Organization (NTO). This is 45 percent more than the same period last year and 50 percent more compared to 2019. Most visitors are in Herceg Novi, Budva, and Bar.
NTO spokesperson Milena Vujović said the post-season results are strong and supported by favorable weather and increased air traffic. From January to September 21, Montenegro’s airports served 2.5 million passengers, up 8 percent from last year and 15 percent above the record year of 2019.
NTO is actively promoting Montenegro abroad, with recent presentations in Paris and Japan, and upcoming fairs in London and Barcelona. Study visits for tour operators, journalists, and influencers from several European countries and Israel are also planned.
Marketing campaigns will continue to target key markets such as the UK, France, and Germany, with a strong focus on digital promotion. Montenegro’s tourism film recently won a silver award in Spain, and further international recognition is expected.
The NTO is also implementing joint campaigns with major tour operators from Austria, the Czech Republic, Scandinavia, and the UK to strengthen Montenegro’s tourism visibility and growth.
