The establishment of the Bar–Ancona maritime line will significantly improve the connectivity between Montenegro and Italy, said Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović, according to a statement from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
The Bar–Ancona line will operate two to three times a week until mid-September, further strengthening Montenegro’s maritime network. This is the fourth maritime route launched this season, clearly demonstrating the Government of Montenegro’s commitment to the development of maritime transport, said Radulović.
The minister noted that the Bar–Bari line was established last week and will operate once a week until the end of August. He also announced adjustments to the sailing schedule in the first half of July due to certain issues faced by the company “Jadrolinija.”
Last month, maritime lines Budva–Dubrovnik and Kotor–Dubrovnik were launched, further enhancing regional connectivity, Radulović added.
The Executive Director of Barska Plovidba, Boris Mihailović, emphasized the importance of establishing this maritime line.
Last year’s cooperation was mutually satisfactory, which has been confirmed by the renewal of the partnership. This year we expect even more passengers, which was already evident during the first voyage, both in terms of passengers and the number of cars and trucks, said Mihailović.
Radulović, who attended the ceremony marking the launch of the Bar–Ancona line, said that establishing new maritime lines is crucial for local communities, as well as for the overall Montenegrin economy.
