The week on the Montenegro Stock Exchange was marked by a slight decline in indices and lower trading volume, following the announcement that Montenegro recorded a budget deficit of €45 million in the first five months of the year, equivalent to 0.6% of the estimated GDP.
The MNSE10 index, which tracks the top ten companies on the exchange, fell by 1.2% to 1,161.68 points, while the MONEX index dropped by 0.8% to 17,504.5 points.
Trading volume amounted to €67,360, which was 1.7 times lower than the previous week.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this represents a €61.2 million better outcome than the planned deficit of €106.1 million.
For the first five months, there was a current expenditure surplus of €8.4 million.
Budget revenues reached €1.09 billion, or 13.8% of GDP, which is €8.5 million (0.8%) higher compared to the same period last year.
Shares of Jugopetrol fell 5.1% to €13.66, and those of the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES) dropped 4.2% to €1.15.
Plantaže shares declined slightly to €0.1806. The company announced that the positive audit opinion confirms that its financial statements were prepared in accordance with legal regulations, maintaining a high level of transparency, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards, which strengthens trust among shareholders and the public.
At Plantaže’s recent regular shareholders’ meeting, the financial reports for the past year and the independent auditor’s report were reviewed and approved.
Plantaže reported its highest revenue in the last ten years—€34.9 million, representing a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
Shares of Crnogorski Telekom and Hotel Group Budvanska Rivijera remained unchanged at €2.30 and €7.30, respectively. Shares of the Institute “Simo Milošević” also held steady at €58.
Total trading volume on the Montenegro Stock Exchange in June reached €75.37 million, nearly 4,500% higher compared to June last year, with an average daily volume of €3.59 million during 21 trading days.
On the primary market in June, total turnover was €156,890 from 30 transactions, while the standard market saw nine transactions with a turnover of €4,040.
