Montenegro’s participation at the Tourism Fair in Banja Luka demonstrated significant interest in the country’s tourist offerings, prompting the National Tourism Organization (NTO) to continue its intensive promotional activities in the Bosnian market.
According to the NTO, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and local tourist organizations, they showcased the summer season offerings, a rich calendar of events, active tourism, gastronomic specialties, and new tourism products.
The fair was opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Vuk Žižić, who emphasized the importance of the event and regional cooperation.
“Montenegro is participating in this year’s fair as a partner country, reaffirming our strong ties in economic, cultural, and especially, tourist relations,” said Žižić.
He noted that the goal was to present Montenegro’s full range of offerings, from beautiful beaches and modern accommodation facilities to a rich calendar of events, authentic gastronomy, and opportunities for active vacations in mountains, rivers, and national parks.
“Our coast and mountains, lakes and rivers, our festivals and cultural heritage, our tastes and scents—together, all these make Montenegro a unique destination worth visiting,” Žižić stated.
Visitors had the opportunity to taste traditional Montenegrin specialties such as prosciutto, cheese, ruštula (traditional Montenegrin bread), and wine, while promotional materials further showcased Montenegro’s beauty.
“I am amazed by the flavors Montenegro greeted us with. This summer, I will spend my vacation in your country and I’m not leaving Banja Luka without Montenegrin prosciutto and cheese,” said one of the fair visitors.
The citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina showed interest in the active vacation offerings, national parks, and the northern part of the country.
“I’ve been to Montenegro several times, but your offerings reminded me of how much more I have to discover,” added another visitor.
The atmosphere at Montenegro’s stand was enhanced by performances from the Budva City Music and the Castel Nuovo klapa, which delighted attendees and contributed to the authentic experience.
In addition, the Cultural and Information Center “Budo Tomović” folk ensemble presented traditional dances and costumes, bringing the spirit of Montenegrin culture to life.
During the fair, State Secretaries Vuk Žižić and Petar Drašković met with the President of the Government of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, the President of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, Maja Gojković, as well as the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, and the Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, Denis Šulić.
“Montenegro’s participation in this fair has shown there is great interest in our tourism offerings, so the NTO will continue its intensive promotional activities in the Bosnian market in the coming period,” the statement concludes.
In addition to the NTO, the fair also featured offerings from strategic partner One Montenegro and local tourist organizations from Budva, Herceg Novi, Bar, Podgorica and Nikšić.
