At the end of August, 21,100 companies and entrepreneurs in Montenegro had blocked accounts, an increase of 0.38 percent from July, according to the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
The total debt leading to these account blockages was 1.52 billion euros, up 1.75 percent compared to July. Debt concentration is high: the ten largest debtors, representing just 0.05 percent of all recorded entities, account for 35.21 percent of total blocked amounts, totaling 534.62 million euros.
The 50 largest debtors, or 0.24 percent of all entities, account for 54.15 percent of the total blockages, equivalent to 822.15 million euros.
Short-term blockages of up to one year affected 1,290 debtors, totaling 34.97 million euros, or 2.3 percent of the total blocked amount. Longer-term blockages of over one year involved 19,800 companies and entrepreneurs, with 1.48 billion euros blocked.
