In a statement for the CdM portal, the Capital Investments Minister and Leader of the Bosniak Party, Ervin Ibrahimovic, announces that the next motorway section to be constructed is the Matesevo-Andrijevica section.
“The Ministry of Capital Investments communicates intensively with the European Commission thus aiming to ensure support for the continuation of construction works on the Bar-Boljare motorway and on 15 December last year, another 6 million euro in grant money was approved for updating the feasibility study for the Bar-Boljare motorway and the preparation of the main project and supporting technical and tender documentation for the first next section, which will, most likely, be the Matesevo-Andrijevica section, as the logical construction and functional continuation of the current investment. This will ensure corridor development from Bar over the border with Serbia, heading to Belgrade, Budapest and Bucharest,” the Minister says.
He also points out that even those who were the biggest critics of this project now advocate for the continuation of this capital project, which only proves that without large and capital investments in the development infrastructure projects, there’s no progress and development of the society as a whole.
According to him, the work on the second section is a complex project but having in mind their previous experience, he believes that the dynamics of construction will depend on a quality preparation of project and technical documentation. And that’s what the Ministry of Capital Investments mostly dealt with over the past 6 months.
“In 2023, we’re going to update the feasibility study for the Bar-Boljare motorway, and after that, in 2024, we’re going to prepare the main project and supporting technical and tender documentation for the first next section to be constructed”.
As he says, the estimated value of construction works is to be determined in the main project and tender documentation, that is, after the tender procedure is finalized.
Minister Ibrahimovic is adamant – political stability is a precondition for the country’s economic development. It’s a practice in all democracies, he concludes, CDM reports.
