Montenegro’s accession to SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) represents a crucial milestone in the country’s EU integration process, offering significant economic opportunities and tangible benefits for its citizens and economy, stated Finance Minister Novica Vuković.
“Thanks to Montenegro’s efforts and the dedicated work of the Ministry of Finance, with the support of the Central Bank of Montenegro, our country has become the first in the Western Balkans to join the SEPA single euro payments market,” he highlighted.
This achievement, according to Vuković, reaffirms the government’s commitment to EU membership.
“It’s a significant step forward that brings real benefits to Montenegrin citizens and businesses, including faster, more convenient, and efficient euro payments, which will boost competitiveness and open up new business opportunities. The government has made it possible for citizens and businesses to experience the advantages of the unified European market even before our formal EU membership,” he emphasized.
The main goal, he added, is to create a better, more prosperous Montenegro, making it a more attractive place to live, work and invest.
