The prices of personal consumption products and services, measured by the consumer price index, in October, compared to September, were on average 1.4 percent higher, according to Monstat data.
In October, compared to the same month last year, consumer prices were on average 16.8 percent higher.
“The biggest influence on the monthly inflation rate was the increase in prices in the groups milk, cheese and eggs, clothes, meat, shoes and other footwear, short-term goods for routine household maintenance, hairdressing and other personal care services, other appliances, items and products for personal care, bread and cereals”, they said from Monstat.
In the period from January to October, compared to the same period last year, consumer prices were on average 12.2 percent higher.
Observed by the main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption, in October, compared to the previous month, growth was recorded in the groups of clothing and footwear by 7.3 percent, other goods and services by 3.8 percent, education by 3.1 percent, furniture, household equipment and routine apartment maintenance 2.6 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages 1.8 percent, health 1 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels 0.5 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.2 percent, transportation 0.1 percent.
The drop in prices was recorded in the restaurants and hotels groups by 4.7 percent and recreation and culture by 0.3 percent.
The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
