The government has prepared a new agreement to regulate the new method of calculating concession fees for the use of hydroenergy potential, as reported in the latest session.
According to the government’s statement, the information includes details about the company Hydroenergy Montenegro from Berane, which, as a concessionaire, has two concluded concession agreements. Under these agreements, eight small hydroelectric power plants (SHPPs) were built on the Bistrica and Šekular watercourses, with a total installed capacity of 14.04 MW and a planned annual production of 44.90 GWh. The company concluded amendments to the power purchase agreements on the market on December 20, 2023, altering significant elements for the concessionaire’s revenue calculation.
“In light of this circumstance, the need arose to create a new agreement that will regulate the new method of calculating concession fees in accordance with the revenue generated from the amended power purchase agreement. In this regard, the government has accepted the Agreement on the calculation of concession fees from the Concession Agreement for the construction of small hydroelectric power plants (SHPPs) Jezerštica, mHE Bistrica, mHE Jelovica 2, and mHE Jelovica 1 on the Bistrica watercourse,” it was announced.
Furthermore, the government has accepted the Agreement on the calculation of concession fees from the Concession Agreement for the combined DBOT arrangement for the exploration of the Šekularska watercourse and the techno-economic utilization of water energy potential for the production of electric energy in small hydroelectric power plants.
