The Agricultural Cluster of Montenegro will organize a tractor rally on October 9 at 12:00 PM at the square towards Kličev in Nikšić, expressing dissatisfaction with the current Agro-Budget.
The rally will last for half an hour and carries the symbolic message “minute to 12,” signaling the urgent need for the state to provide serious support to Montenegrin agriculture, according to a statement signed by Boško Miličić on behalf of the Agricultural Cluster.
The protest stems from dissatisfaction with the current Agro-Budget and calls for five percent of the total state budget to be allocated to agriculture. Miličić explained that such an allocation would provide long-term and fair support to farmers, food producers, and rural communities.
- With this measure, farmers would gain stable incomes and investment security, citizens would have more domestic and safe food, villages would survive, and young people would have reasons to stay and develop Montenegrin agriculture. It would also strengthen ecological and sustainable production, which is the future of any modern state, he said.
Miličić added that agriculture in Montenegro is on the brink of collapse, with small farms disappearing daily, local products struggling to reach markets, and young people leaving rural areas.
- If immediate action is not taken, it will be too late tomorrow. That’s why we say: “Minute to 12!” he emphasized.
He stressed that this is not only a fight for farmers but for safe food, a strong economy, and the future of Montenegro.
- Support the “5 Honest” campaign – because agriculture deserves more, Miličić concluded.
