This summer, Montenegro will be connected to three key British cities—London, Manchester and Birmingham—thanks to direct flights operated by the airline Jet2.com, the National Tourism Organization (NTO) announced.
This significant capacity increase reflects the growing interest from the British market and is the result of a strategic partnership between the NTO and leading British partners, including Jet2.com, the UK’s largest tour operator and one of the biggest airlines in the country.
A representative from the NTO recently attended the prestigious Jet2holidays Destination Partnership Event held at Jet2’s headquarters in Leeds. This exclusive event, organized for the first time, gathered representatives from partner destinations, tour operators, and tourism organizations across Europe to strengthen partnerships and share market strategies.
During the event, the NTO representative had the opportunity to showcase Montenegro’s advantages as a tourist destination and further promote existing cooperation with Jet2holidays.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, praised the successful collaboration with the NTO and expressed the company’s goal to further expand capacity in the coming years, especially focusing on direct flights to Tivat.
He emphasized that Montenegro is a beautiful destination offering excellent hotels, stunning landscapes, and exceptional hospitality. Feedback from Jet2 customers has been very positive, particularly highlighting the beauty of Montenegro’s lakes and mountains, as well as the warmth they experience during their stay. These are the qualities Jet2 aims to promote and develop further.
The event is part of a broader cooperation with Jet2holidays, currently including a comprehensive marketing campaign to promote Montenegro in the British market. The campaign features digital banners, social media videos, email marketing, and promotional content on Jet2’s online platforms.
The campaign specifically targets Manchester, London, and Birmingham—cities connected to Montenegro by Jet2.com flights—and focuses on high-income tourists and couples interested in luxury and authentic travel experiences. This initiative builds on a successful campaign launched in partnership with Jet2holidays last year.
Given the number of passengers booking Jet2 flights from these cities to Montenegro, it is estimated that the campaign contributed around 2.9 million euros to Montenegro’s gross domestic product last year.
This summer season, one of the largest British airlines will operate direct flights from Tivat to London, Manchester, and Birmingham multiple times per week, ensuring high frequency and flexibility for British tourists.
