This summer, a series of charter flights will be launched from several French cities to Montenegro, announced Maryline Haize-Hagron, director of Caen and Deauville airports, during a meeting with Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić.
The Ministry of Tourism stated that the planned destinations include cities in the Normandy region, marking a significant step in strengthening air connections with northern France.
The meeting, held during the business forum of Montenegrin and French entrepreneurs as part of the “Days of Montenegro in Normandy” event, also resulted in an agreement to develop a model with relevant partners to extend these flights year-round, aiming to establish sustainable and stable air connectivity.
The Ministry recalled that Minister Kordić led a delegation from the Government and Chamber of Economy of Montenegro at the business forum in Caen during the same event, where she met with the president of the Normandy region, as well as representatives of local businesses and educational institutions.
Kordić also visited one of Normandy’s leading hospitality schools, François Rabelais, where an agreement was reached to establish cooperation with similar schools in Montenegro, primarily from Budva and Podgorica. The collaboration will include student exchanges, professional training, internships, and joint projects.
During talks with Normandy’s regional president Hervé Morin and vice presidents responsible for tourism and investments, Kordić discussed opportunities to create new tourist routes connecting Montenegro and northern France, as well as investment potentials, particularly in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and health tourism.
Special emphasis was placed on innovative and sustainable projects aimed at developing specialized tourism sectors and extending the tourist season.
“The Ministry of Tourism will continue to strongly support such initiatives that contribute to strategically positioning Montenegro as a year-round accessible destination and as a partner ready for concrete and long-term international cooperation,” the statement concluded.
