Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development, Nik Đeljošaj, met with the Ambassador of Japan to Montenegro, H.E. Akira Imamura. The two officials reaffirmed the long-standing and productive bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of deepening economic cooperation and encouraging innovation, according to the Ministry’s statement.
Minister Đeljošaj highlighted the importance of Japanese investments and their positive impact on Montenegro’s economic development.
“Partnerships with Japanese companies foster a dynamic economic environment in Montenegro, creating opportunities for growth and development,” said Đeljošaj.
A key focus of the meeting was Montenegro’s participation in EXPO 2025 in Osaka, which was described as a major event for the country.
Đeljošaj expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the Japanese people, noting that Montenegro’s presence at EXPO 2025 would be an excellent opportunity to showcase the country’s culture, tourism, and economic potential on the global stage. The event also serves as a platform to further promote economic ties between the two nations and attract more Japanese investment to Montenegro. The meeting also highlighted the valuable and productive partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
