Representatives of the governments of Montenegro and the Czech Republic are expected to soon sign a memorandum of cooperation, which will serve as a significant framework for developing institutional collaboration between the two countries in the field of transportation.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, during a meeting between Montenegro’s Minister of Transportation Maja Vukićević and her Czech counterpart Martin Kupka at the International Transport Forum in Leipzig, it was agreed that the next step in strengthening bilateral cooperation would be the signing of the memorandum, which is planned to take place soon in Prague.
“The meeting highlighted that the relationship between the two countries is characterized by strong partnership and mutual understanding, and the memorandum confirms the intention to further deepen cooperation, especially in the areas of modernizing transport infrastructure,” the statement said.
The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation through the exchange of knowledge and experience in the development and maintenance of transport infrastructure, implementation of modern traffic management systems, improvement of safety and accessibility of mobility, as well as support for environmentally friendly transport solutions.
The document also foresees specific forms of cooperation, including the organization of joint seminars, workshops, and training programs, as well as the exchange of experts and technical solutions.
Minister Vukićević emphasized that improving transport infrastructure is one of the key priorities of the Government of Montenegro, and that the expertise of Czech partners can provide valuable support in achieving this goal.
The signing of the memorandum will mark an important step in advancing Montenegro’s European path in the transport sector and serve as an example of quality international cooperation aimed at sustainable development and the integration of modern technologies into the domestic transport system.
