The development of maritime traffic between Montenegro and Croatia is of great importance to both countries, it was stated following a meeting between Montenegro’s Minister of Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, and Croatia’s Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Oleg Butković.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs announced that Radulović and Butković discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in the maritime sector, with a special focus on strengthening infrastructure capacities and improving connectivity between the two countries.
“We are ready to continue collaboration through concrete projects that will bring benefits to our economies and citizens. Navigation safety, marine ecosystem protection, and modernizing ports and infrastructure remain priorities that we will work on together,” said Radulović.
Both ministers emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and maintaining a partnership between Montenegro and Croatia in the maritime sector to enhance regional stability and economic development.
Butković stated that today’s meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss how to exchange knowledge and experiences in maritime administration.
He noted that cooperation between the two countries in maritime affairs has been exceptionally good so far, and after today’s meeting, they see opportunities for further strengthening cooperation in areas such as search and rescue operations at sea, either through a joint agreement or other forms of collaboration.
“Croatia, as a maritime country, has a long history and tradition in maritime administration, and in this regard, we believe this can be mutually beneficial,” said Butković.
During his visit to Zagreb, Radulović also discussed with his Croatian counterpart joint initiatives aimed at increasing maritime safety, enhancing the exchange of experiences, and applying modern standards in the maritime industry.
“I believe that through our partnership and joint initiatives, we will further strengthen the maritime sector and improve the connectivity between Montenegro and Croatia, to the benefit of both countries,” concluded Radulović.
