The Montenegrin Parliament did not approve the proposed amendments to the Corporate Income Tax Law, which were submitted by deputies from the Europe Now Movement (PES).
The amendments were not supported by the Committee on Economy, Finance, and Budget, and also failed to gain backing during the parliamentary session, according to Mina. Out of the votes, 28 deputies supported the proposal, 14 abstained, and none voted against it.
Following the parliament’s rejection of the amnesty law earlier in the day, proposed by the coalition For the Future of Montenegro (ZBCG), ZBCG deputy Milan Knežević announced that his party members would also not support the amendments to the Corporate Income Tax Law.
A key part of the proposed amendments included a PES deputy’s amendment to increase the corporate income tax rate from the current 12% to 15%.
