Montenegro recorded approximately 2.29 million tourist arrivals and 12.79 million overnight stays in January-August 2026, up 9.09% and 8.15% year on year. Foreign visitors drove most of the growth, while a separate measure showed real retail turnover up 4.7% in the third quarter.
Real estate accounted for 50.79% of Montenegro’s gross foreign direct investment inflow in the first eight months of 2026. The Central Bank’s assessment flagged strong price growth, possible overvaluation and expanding residential lending.
