In June, Herceg Novi reported 53,550 registered guests, an increase of 5,870 compared to the same period last year, according to the local Tourist Organization.
Of these, 50,750 were foreign visitors. Accommodation figures showed 27,540 guests stayed in hotels, while 25,620 stayed in private accommodation such as households, rooms, apartments, and villas—a 4.3% increase.
Two auto-camps hosted 392 guests. Private accommodation was mainly visited by tourists from the region, primarily Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, making up about 55% of guests. Russian tourists accounted for 21%, while other markets contributed single-digit percentages. Notably, German tourists increased by 2.4% with 613 arrivals, and visitors from the UK totaled 253.
In collective accommodation, Western European markets dominated, with the UK, Germany, and France leading arrivals. Serbia remained the largest single country market, followed by significant numbers from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Tourist Organization expressed satisfaction with the start of the peak season, highlighting various infrastructure projects in the city that improved the overall environment for both residents and visitors.
Initial tourist surveys indicate a high level of satisfaction with the destination’s offerings, with valuable insights gained into the importance of sustainable tourism and the destination’s digital presence. The surveys also provide guidance on developing rural tourism and active holiday options in the hinterland.
Regarding revenues, the Tourist Organization noted a 5.79% increase in the collection of the tourist accommodation tax compared to last year. Membership fees declined by 1.4%, while the tourist tax collection grew by 40% compared to June last year. Overall, total revenues increased by 8.5% year-on-year.
