According to data from the Herceg Novi Tourist Organization, the town hosted around 53,500 visitors in June, marking a 10% increase compared to June last year.
While July data is still being processed, weekly statistics indicate that visitor numbers are on par with last year’s July. The majority of tourists come from the region, primarily Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by significant visitors from Western European countries such as France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. There is also a growing number of tourists from Turkey and Poland, as well as guests from more distant markets like the United States and China.
Herceg Novi offers a rich and diverse event program during the summer months, catering to all ages and tastes. Highlights include the Karavan Fešti festival in Đenovići, Baošići, and Bijela, showcasing local traditions and gastronomy. Other events feature Mediterranean evenings, classical music concerts in city squares, morning performances by the Castel Nuovo choir, and well-known festivals such as the Book Square, Guitar Art Summer Fest, Herceg Novi Film Festival, Comic Festival, Big Game Fishing, Cyrillic Square Festival, and Klapa Festival.
Local hoteliers express satisfaction with the tourist season’s progress. Casa del Mare Hotel Group reports occupancy rates meeting their 2025 budget expectations, with guests mainly from the UK, USA, Russia, Western Europe, and regional countries. There is an increasing number of German tourists, supported by targeted marketing efforts.
Similarly, the Carine Group, operating 800 hotel rooms in Herceg Novi, notes a 5-10% rise in guest numbers compared to last year, a trend ongoing since early April. Their primary markets are France, Germany, and Poland, with strong bookings expected through October.
