The Municipality of Herceg Novi has submitted a request to the Secretariat for Ecology and Energy Efficiency to determine whether an Environmental Impact Assessment is required for the construction of a panoramic cable car from Igalo to Ilinica.
The project involves seven plots in the Sutorina cadastral area of Herceg Novi.
The 11.9 million euro cable car, connecting Igalo to Žvinje Hill, is planned to start construction this year, with operations expected to begin next summer. Two years of design coordination and preparatory work have been completed, and construction will begin after the main project and technical documentation review are finalized.
The lower station will be located near the Solila Stadium for easier access, and the upper station on Žvinje Hill. The project is executed under a design-and-build contract by XEnergy (formerly Novi Volvox), with gondola equipment supplied by Italian company Leitner.
