The local self-government will build a new Olympic swimming pool in Igalo, which will mean a lot for PVK “Jadran” and Herceg Novi in the coming period. This was during the reception of the representatives of the water polo teams, who are preparing in Herceg Novi, said the president of the municipality, Stevan Katić.
– We will try to speed up all procedures and get to the project of the pool itself as soon as possible so that the works can start very quickly, and so that all our children from Herceg Novi will have much better conditions for development, and Herceg Novi will be the backbone of water polo in Montenegro, he said on that occasion, Katic added that a large number of Herceg Novi residents play for the water polo national team of Montenegro and that all of them deserve the absolute full support of the city in terms of infrastructure, as stated on the official city website.
The selector of the water polo national team of Montenegro, Vladimir Gojković, expressed his satisfaction with the announced construction of the swimming pool.
– Most of all, I am looking forward to the announcement that an indoor Olympic swimming pool will be built in Herceg Novi. This is what is necessary for “Jadran”, and as President Katic said, from such a playing base will emerge new national team members who will be the backbone of Montenegrin water polo – emphasized Gojković.
