Already on the first day, a large number of Montenegrin citizens, as well as tourists, came for their first ride on the Kotor-Lovćen Cable Car, and Montenegrin journalists also had the opportunity to be among the first to enjoy the view of Boka.
– This is an important day for all of us who worked on the project, but I believe it is also an important day for the Montenegrin tourism economy. The view of Boka and the stay at Lovćen, the possibility to climb to this fantastic position in 11 minutes, easier access to the Lovćen National Park for tourists, definitely make the offer of the cable car one of the must-see attractions for everyone who visits Montenegro. Žičara Kotor – Lovćen will be part of a sustainable, ecologically oriented story, which in the development of content, even at this initial level, follows world tourism trends in the part of active vacation and nurturing authentic values at all levels – said the executive director of Žičara Kotor – Lovćen Marco Cus.
He recalled that the partner of the project is the company Leitner, whose representatives are fascinated by the beauty of this climate.
– So, as of today, Montenegro has a cable car with a view of one of the most beautiful bays in the world, whose construction, as well as safety checks and protocols, correspond to the highest world standards – said Cus.
A one-way cable car ride for adults costs 13 euros, while the price of a return ticket is 23 euros. The prices of children’s tickets are significantly lower, so a cable car ride in one direction costs 7 euros, or 12 euros for both directions. Free rides are provided for children under the age of two. Benefits are also defined for PWDs, so the price of a one-way ticket will be 7 euros, or 12 euros for both directions.
Owners of Mastercard payment cards in the period from the opening of the Cable Car until September 15th can obtain a price reduction in the amount of 5 euros for each purchased ticket. Discounts are valid for payments with Mastercard payment cards issued by all banks in Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of card type. The number of rides paid for with the same Mastercard debit card is not limited, that is, the card user has the right to a reduction in the ticket price, even if he rides the cable car more than once during the campaign period.
Also, thanks to the strategic partnership with Montenegrin Commercial Bank, which provided financial support for the construction of the Kotor – Lovćen cable car, their clients will be able to enjoy discounts when buying tickets.
We remind you that the Kotor – Lovćen Cable Car project is being implemented by the Novi Volvox – Leitner consortium on the basis of a concession contract signed in December 2021, while the foundation stone was laid on July 12th, 2022.
