Montenegrin technology company Five Group is preparing an autonomous service robot for hotels, retailers and institutional clients, with the Five Robotics division developing the system for potential international markets. Founder said the robot’s design and system architecture have been completed, with the project entering its final stage before commercial launch and adaptation to individual markets.
The autonomous system is designed to communicate with users, recognise people and its physical surroundings, and perform predefined tasks. Potential applications include hotels, retail outlets, corporate reception areas, public institutions and education.
The hospitality sector represents a potential initial domestic application, given Montenegro’s tourism activity and labour shortages during the peak season. The robot could perform functions including reception support, guest guidance and internal delivery, as well as other repetitive service tasks. Its commercial viability will depend on cost, reliability and integration with existing hotel systems. Five Group is developing the project with the aim of positioning the technology as a product developed in Montenegro for international markets, rather than solely as a domestic automation solution.
No investment value, planned production volume or firm launch date has been disclosed.
The project represents an advanced hardware development initiative within a Montenegrin technology sector more strongly associated with software and services. International commercialisation by Five Robotics would provide an example of a Montenegro-based company seeking to export proprietary robotics technology rather than primarily providing outsourced digital services. The project’s further development will involve moving from the completed prototype and technology platform toward repeat orders, production capacity and export revenue.
